To celebrate his legacy, GREY GOOSE is inviting cocktail enthusiasts from both sides of the pond to raise an Espresso Martini cocktail to the man and join in the parties which will be live-streamed between the bars at 1pm-3pm in New Orleans and 7pm-9pm in London.Īt Swift, the statement cocktail bar from the team behind award-winning Nightjar and Oriole, Bradsell’s daughter, Bea, will host the evening with all funds from the sales of the Espresso Martini cocktail going to The Benevolent, the drinks industry charity. GREY GOOSE, the world’s best tasting vodka, will host a trans-Atlantic celebration of the life of legendary bartender, Dick Bradsell, with Swift bar in Soho, London and specially curated pop-up bar, Le Café de Nuit in New Orleans. Really disappointing and I certainly will no be back.Grey Goose, the world’s best tasting vodka, will pay tribute to the man who many believe invented the Espresso Martini cocktail at Tales of the Cocktail festival by live-streaming events in New Orleans and London simultaneously Running a great bar is more than just your mixology skills. Beware - if this how they manage the place, I would not trust them with a special day or a celebration. It totally is not about £20 but the principle that you cannot just take someone's money. I contacted the owners on social media - nothing. After initially suggesting I had created this time consuming elaborate process to con them out of £20, they promised to look into CCTV of the day and get back to me. I contacted the customer service by email and, in fairness, they replied quickly. So you can imagine my surprise when the same amount appeared twice on my statement. My companion paid a chunk in cash and I paid for the rest on my card. The visit itself was fine, but subsequently, I discovered I had been double charged on my contactless debit card. It tells me all I need to know about how much the management care about customers. However, my experience on the last visit has left flabbergasted. I had been a regular visitor as I really loved the good quality cocktails. Overall I think probably more hassle than it was worth and I didn’t feel like the experience was consumer sympathetic.

My next problem was that our second drink was ordered after half an hour but again took 15 minutes to come which meant that we had about 10 minutes to drink the second one before being courteously reminded that our time slot was expiring and being effectively booted out. because of the minimum spend you really need to have at least two drinks per person to make the one hour timeslot worthwhile. All of this is fine but my real problem comes with the fact that I booked a one hour timeslot and it took 15 minutes to bring our first drink. I would say that the huge brick of ice in my small champagne saucer meant that one of my drinks was particularly small. The menu is really fun and well put together. My table was ready and the cocktails are tasty and not expensive for central London standards.

Be prepared to be clobbered with restrictive terms and conditions including having to secure the reservation with a card, having a minimum spend, having to arrive within a certain number of minutes of your reservation and having to cancel your reservation well in advance to avoid being charged. The pre-book reservation experience is far from consumer friendly. If you think you are going to have a relaxed cocktail experience, be warned that your expectations may not be met. This review is specifically with regard to a pre-booked reservation.
